Telemedicine

Telemedicine is the delivery of health care services, where distance is a critical factor, by all health care professionals using information and communication technologies for the exchange of valid information for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease and injuries, research and evaluation, and for the continuing education of health care providers, all in the interests of advancing the health of individuals and their communities. The four goals of telemedicine includes the provision of clinical support, overcoming geographical barriers, involves the use of various information and communication technologies and improve health outcomes

Medical Informatics

Medical informatics is the use of information technology to organize and analyze health records to improve healthcare outcomes. Health informatics deals with the resources, devices and methods to utilize acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of information in health and medicine.

Specialized Health Technologies include devices, software and technology that focuses on a highly specialized field of interest in medicine. An example would be the utilization of 3D printing technology in pre-operative planning, orthoses, prothesis and implants. Artificial intelligence is also another example and its potential to impact the healthcare industry.
